We all know that we can't talk about Nick Greer pedals and not mention the paint jobs. Most people don't quite realize exactly how much work goes into these rectangular tonal masterpieces. All boxes are drilled at on off-site facility in the Coastal Plains of South Georgia by Ronnie Greer. After the drilling process is complete, the boxes undergo a wash with an acid etching solution. This is done to ensure that the primer and paint will adhere to the aluminum boxes correctly. It is at this point the pedals are washed and dryed, and the primer and paint layers are then applied.
The painting process takes approximately one day. After an overnight cure, the pedals are then hand labeled with paint (yes, paint...have you ever seen a white Sharpie?) Once the pedals are labeled they are then sprayed with nitrocellulose lacquer clear coats. We all know that lacquer sounds much better. The newest line of Greer pedals feature a new look for our company, featuring professionally designed, precision laser etched faceplates. Drawing on inspiration from vintage circuitry, and ideas brewed up in the Greer Laboratory, the resulting circuits are a perfect marriage of classic and innovative design.
